The Hawai‘i Island sangha meets in North Kohala Sundays at 4:00 pm:
4:00 – 4:45 – Silent Sitting Meditation 4:45 – 5:30 (only when a teacher is on island) – Dhamma talk, questions and answers.
Everyone is welcome.
No charge.
Dana for teachers is welcome.
Please arrive on time.
Bring a cushion if desired.
Chairs are available.

DIRECTIONS From either Waimea (Mountain Road) or Kona (Queen Ka`ahumanu Hwy.),
New Entrance for Kohala Sunday Sitting!
Head east on Akoni Pule Hwy (270) toward Pololu from Kapa’au Town.
You will pass ArakakiMarket on your right and then Kohala Middle School on your left.
The road will dip down and then pullup a gentle hill passing mile-marker 25 on your right.
Directly after mile marker 25, at the top of the hill (less than 1/2 a mile past Kohala Middle School), you will take a left onto a gravel road toward a gate leading to a long road headed makai (toward the ocean). The road is not yet on maps but will be called “Ala Maluhia” – There is a sign on the gate for “Inhabit Sanctuary.“
The gate should be unlocked 15 minutes before the sitting. The gate will remain unlocked but closed for the duration of the sitting. If it is not unlocked when you arrive, just park to the side and wait. Please close the gate behind you when you come in!
Pass through the gate and follow the road all the way to Pratt Rd. As the road bends, hang right and take your firstleft through the gate onto our land. Follow the path between the palms on your left to the Sundaysittingtent!
5:45 – 6:30 – Dhamma talk, sharing reflections and practice experiences, questions, and answers.
Weekly mindfulness meditation practice for beginners through seasoned practitioners. This session is free and open to the public and no advanced registration is needed. Voluntary donations to the temple will be gratefully accepted.

Thanh and Xuan Huynh lead weekend retreats once a month at the outdoor park on
Hawaii Loa Ridge. The retreat is held on both Saturday and Sunday during the day, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., every second weekend of the month (except during formal retreat time).

The Kailua Insight Meditation Group (KIMG) meets Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Kailua Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, located at 268 A Kuulei Road in Kailua, at the end of a small lane behind the 7-11 store, across the street from the Kailua Library.
